    I agree, but the point is exactly on the long term to make changes to democracy. But that's not possible without representation.Joining a third party will never achieve anything. So the only alternative to influence the Democratic party from within is civil war as I see it.

  • I have said repeatedly that that agreement was worthless and probably illegal anyway, because it's based on US agencies respecting personal data, and USA has demonstrated multiple times that their agencies have very little respect for personal data.

    Therefore in principle it is illegal for any public institution in EU to store any personal data on any American owned server or cloud service.

    This agreement between EU and USA was merely a play to the gallery, to avoid a major political trade crisis between EU and USA.USA can still legally break all the rules by just saying the word terrorism. But they have many other ways they circumvent the regulation, for instance simply buying the information they need from scumbag companies that specialize in selling personal information, without needing a permission from a judge.

  • Good. Why would we want people who take vastly more than they contribute to remain in our state?

    That's a good question, but the rich are good at making the poor fight for the scraps. And their riches may come from the whole of USA and even the entire world, so local states fight each others to keep the rich in their state, because their taxes are still often significant even when they pay to little.

    As I mentioned, the best way to stop this is by mandatory international agreement on a wealth tax. But unfortunately such an agreement is not likely. But we should all at least support it.

    Doesn't matter in regard to consumer protection laws, you can't press a button, and legally lose your legally defined consumer protections.Also no license is allowed to put consumers in a worse position than required by law. Attempts to do so can actually make the license illegal! Voiding any protection the issuer seeks from the license.

    Nope, not in EU they can't. And pressing a button that says yes is not legally binding in EU, we do have actual legal precedence for that.Also the laws that protect consumers CANNOT ever never be put aside by any license agreement!! Any such license is ILLEGAL, and by being illegal all claims to protect the issuer of the license are illegal. While those granting consumers protections may still stand.

    Actually putting things in "small print" are more likely to void any claims than actually uphold them in a court of law.Remember these are also EU countries, and EU countries have actual consumer protection, it's not like the wild west of countries like USA.
