I’ll write something here later probably. In the meantime, hi to whoever’s reading this I hope you get a chance to enjoy something kind today :)

  • I mean if you’re under an approximate age pneumonia can keep you young forever too

  • I’ve learned a lot about history, Linux terminal commands, wildlife, and even got manga recommendations from discussions with folks here.

I do my best to avoid antagonistic conversation towards other users.

  • It’s been that way for the past 10+ years, internet sib.

Corpo media’s all about the superficial and the addictive algorithms to keep you in the ad-machine. That’s why we’re here.

  • Not OP but outdoor kittens tend to be a little crusty but usually they’re okay. Lil dude may also have seasonal allergies.

  • ”never having to drive again”

Y’know I can’t put my finger on it but something tells me that there’s an alternative to that without technofascist wet-dream robocars involved 🤔

  • Cry for human and/or skitter up the tree where human can’t reach?

Or does kitty know how to jump down?

  • I love Bob. He looks like a sweet and friendly little soul 🩵

  • Stop using mainstream social media and keep adblockers on all your personal devices?

  • I’m glad you used a picture of a tardigrade instead of whatever the title is probably referencing

  • Inb4 this is clearly an excuse for men to murder their pregnant partners and wipe it away as “she was trying to get an abortion” so he can get off scot-free as dead women can’t say anything to defend themselves.

  • Kitty! The meadow it’s surrounded by is gorgeous. Glad the birds are safe.

  • Drinking a glass or two of water, stretching a couple times an hour if you sit most of the day and eating a vegetable at at least one of your meals. Also getting your face in sunlight for ~15 mins if you can manage it.

It’s not zomg-cure-your-chronic-illness levels of anything but it’s a small baseline buffer.

  • thank mr skeltal

  • In addition to what other commenters have said, A+ is easy enough to get, mostly focused on hardware and troubleshooting and if you’re looking at smaller-medium companies they tend to like that one.

  • It’s so much fun when cats actively prefer ear pets (by their nature of course, not medical conditions).

Kitty ears are so soft and warm and seeing them blissed out by the scritches is magical.

May you have many more happy ear-scritchie times with your boy 🐱

  • Gotta extract more value from the reduced user base. Think Netflix. Plus, they gotta recoup AI “investment” costs, and the remaining people on Xitter are predominantly mouth breathing rubes.

Add that to foresight only as far as the next quarter and it’s the most logical recipe for success /s

  • Sounds also like Alice in Wonderland Syndrome, since you mention primarily having it during childhood. I had similar experiences but the derealization changed form as I got older.

ETA: Looks like mono can be a cause of it - I had mono as a tot that lasted a couple years. Maybe you had similar issues?

  • Fight mode is usually ears back, low to the ground, fur on end, tense muscles and accompanied by hissing/bapping. Tail tucked in or fully raised dependent on cat and whether they feel cornered or aggressive.

Eyes half squinted, ears generally relaxed/lightly twitching with occasional tail swish is chill mode.

  • Existential crises are far older than the AI boom, but I’d agree that capitalist parasites do like to take advantage of isolation and despair for their own gain.

Part of the “cure” (at least from my experience) is definitely touching grass and remembering that at the end of the day we’re a group of talking monkeys on a rock with a bunch of other living things and this line of thinking goes beyond what our little brains are meant to do. Abstract thought in excess short circuits us in a bad way.

It’s okay to chill out and dumb down a bit. We don’t owe anyone “meaning,” and enjoying life where you can, however small, is a balm.
