  • Post-latest-US-election, when the feeds got somehow even worse and more doom-scrolly than before even on my curated lists. This was still before people were getting banned for upvoting comments.

    Someone posted open source alternatives and while I was never big into Mastodon or other social substitutes I found Lemmy as a parallel to Reddit and eventually made the jump. Haven’t looked back since and am far mentally better off for it 😄 /genuine

    I was dressed accordingly, always had like 3+ layers not counting negative temperature rated down coat, boots, scarf, gloves etc it just still sucked that it was cold and icy lol.

  • I mean yes, but that’s why it’s important we push back hard for leftist unity and use propaganda-like approaches to simplify the message into easier to digest chunks for everyone else.

    I think it’s fair to say nazis and imperialists/colonizers/fascists/insert-word-for-oppressors-here are a common enemy we can fight against, and access to housing/food/healthcare/etc. are basic human rights.

    Theory is great and all but semantics between ourselves can happen after action. It’s a small start but the economic blackouts seemed to break through to the wider populace a bit - I’ve had loved ones who were aware/tried that are otherwise pretty embedded into corpo ecosystems and they didn’t even hear about it from me.

    TL;DR: Yes, but “apes together strong.” We can break stereotypes and now’s our chance to reach outward too.

    Just try to compliment “like a girl” - a simple “Hey I love your scarf! The pattern is awesome” is much calmer than sounding like a runway commentator lol. Only further engage if the other person further engages. This goes for all genders!
