I’ll write something here later probably. In the meantime, hi to whoever’s reading this I hope you get a chance to enjoy something kind today :)

  • This reminds me of one of my favorite animal crossing villagers: Elmer, the horse.

Nintendo got a dark chuckle out of me when I discovered him and I’ve held him hostage on my lil island ever since.

  • TIL. I always thought it was an extension of old school middle-northern European fairy tales, where there’s a lot of violence and whatnot.

  • Lemmy, lol. Found a good chunk of my games this year from bside and the games comms.

  • I mean…I guess? I feel like there are better consoles from that general era +/- 5 years to choose from, but whatever floats their boat.

  • That is such an orange cat thing to do lmao. “You having a day? My day now. No move”

  • I don’t have kids directly of my own but I’ve loved art given to me by kiddos because they made it, and the jank is part of the charm. I’d imagine that holds true for mom too.

  • I could also settle for Bill Pullman or Geena Davis.

    Edit: or Issa Rae!

  • I hear Finland has pretty good views of the Northern Lights. Or Canada, since one of his mailing addresses is there.

  • This is such a punk rock take and I love it.

  • Tell someone with bad memory so they forget before they can share it.

  • “I paid for my lady in dick tips” is glorious

  • I can’t think of an RPG exactly that does this, but Postal 2 will poke fun at you when you save too often for its liking.

  • USian, the confederate flag (the red one with the blue X on it) only means racism and pro-slavery.

Iirc, it wasn’t even used until after the civil war was over, It was designed in 1863, and continued to be waved by - you guessed it - racist POSes who wanted to intimidate newly freed black Americans. Statues of Robert E. Lee. were erected largely in the 20th century, though, and are retaliations against the Reconstruction Era. They’re not “heritage,” they’re hate. Plain and simple.

Why on gods green earth a Canadian of any stripe would order that flag is beyond me, but I guess the trashy white supremacy seems to seep through to other countries. For that I’m sorry, and you’re not being too sensitive.

  • The Polar Express.

The setting is vast, and cold, and dark, and lonely, and the mocap animation gave me an eerie uncanny valley vibe.

I’m so glad stylized animation came back after that in the 2010s onward. Prep and Landing is one of my 21st century favorites 😄

  • Hey OP, you okay? You seem..overwhelmed judging by whatever you’re doing.

    Sending hope-you-feel-better vibes your way.

  • Provided this is in the US:

Universal Healthcare, UBI, and un-atomizing our society by reintroducing free third spaces and not telling men they need to shut up and nut up would solve a lot of this.
