a dude that likes gaming and tech (especially Linux) aro/ace

  • They didn't poll under 18's because it's a political polling organisation and under-18's don't vote, I will say it is a bit strange they grouped the ages like that, since they usually don't, it seems to have been done for the page layout.

The other study linked only has one non-leading question, and a majority still supports a ban.

I don't support the current implementations but dismissing the specific poll is a bit silly.

  • I totally agree with that, I'd argue for either banning the negative aspects or doing that double-blind government-run verification I saw proposed that lets neither the government or the site have relevant information.

My point was that that stuff is a real concern for most people and that's why those bills are being passed.

  • tbf it's a linux flipphone, but yeah it seems like a kinda weird second product after their commodore remake.

  • Their "AI platform" thing is mostly marketing nonsense, they were around before the AI bubble, it's the same tech as google translate (technically AI, but not the same kind).

My point was mostly that they should write a text in chinese the way they want then machine translate it to english, so the structure and substance is human-made.

  • it seems like their first language is chinese, and they can't write well in english

  • Just so you know in the future it'd probably be better to write your post in chinese and then use deepl to translate it if you can't write a good text in english. Might end up a tad stilted but people here would like it a lot more, since the text AI generates in english is both artificial (nobody talks like that) and annoying to read.

  • what other sites do you recommend? I've had similar issues and my ereader is really picky with formatting

  • Do you know of a good spanish Anki deck?

  • that makes sense, I might try it sometime soon.

A lot of the books I acquire 100% legally have messed up cover metadata

  • How would you say Calibre is better than just putting the epubs straight on the ereader?

  • Honestly the refreshed oxygen theme here looks sick, I think a lot of people will use it, especially with skeuomorphism making a comeback.

  • No, basically every riding has, say, three representatives, and there's a threshold that each party needs to pass to get elected, here's an explanation that's better than what I could come up with:

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l8XOZJkozfI

Ends up very proportional while conserving local representatives, although personally I prefer MMP

  • term for software that support multiple people working on it at the same time, a la google docs or figma

  • Sounds good to me! I hope they support the open document formats better than onlyoffice currently does. Also euro-office isn't a particularly good name, although it has the advantage of being explicit about where it's based.

  • Where I live the grid is 100% renewables and we have an EV, problem solved IG

  • I'd be fascinated to see how the US would be if it were completely legal to do basically anything as long as it was triggered through code.

  • Although I personally much prefer the compose key because of how much faster it is, this is an amazing feature for less tech-savvy people.

  • Nor does the fact that they went back on the AI kill switch and sent my information that should've been private to someone else's computer a good thing.

    when did they do that?

  • Firefox's runs locally while google's runs on their (much more powerful) servers, for something similar to chrome's I'd just get the deepl extension, which does the same thing just better.
