  • There seems to be a 5k drop in monthly active users (from 46k to 41k) https://lemmy.fediverse.observer/dailystats

It seems high as Lemm.ee had 1k daily active users for the last week.

Also, the "total lemmy posts per day" is about the existing total of posts at a certain date, not the posts created that specific day. Even then, 4 millions seems high for Lemm.ee, Lw has 527k: https://lemmyverse.net/?order=active

Active communities migrated a few weeks ago, so we shouldn't lose too many of them: https://lemmy.dbzer0.com/post/45977837

  • Indeed, thanks!

  • ut what’s left regardless is: Even that link that is supposed to make instance selection easier isn’t exactly easy to understand for a newcomer.

Newcomers are supposed to just read

" Lemmy has 47k monthly active users

https://discuss.online/ if you want a server located in the USA (content is still accessible from any server, the most difference latency)
https://sopuli.xyz/ if you want a server located in the EU
https://vger.app/settings/install if you want an app

  • I was talking about an enshittification scenario similar to Twitter

  • Last post 4 days ago, that makes Lemmy look like a beehive

  • Welcome!

  • You can switch to "Top of 6h", "Top of 12h", or "New comments"

  • Instance names and stuff like that should be available to people who want to see them, but by default there’s little reason to frighten new users with it.

https://piefed.social/ hides the instance name of communities in the feed
