  • It's a decent sbc for low performance things. I've seen them used in just about every chinese android car head unit system.

  • If I went back to BASIC, I'd be using modern programming practices still - No Gotos, All Subs

  • Quest 3 still goat for the price. Samsung just made a Samsung Vision basically. $1799

  • 2018, so it's a 5th gen. They moved it to the Global Platform, so it's bigger and fatter. Ever since the WRC changed their rules (2016) to force a transverse drivetrain (like front wheel drive cars) for rally cars, that rule basically wrote Subaru out of the WRC.

  • My manual transmission Subaru Impreza has Android Auto and a Reverse Camera. That's the most advanced part of the car. It's a dinosaur otherwise, with a transmission and drivetrain that debuted in 1999 and an engine that's rough but reliable. The instrument cluster has two gauges - speed and RPM. The rest are on a calculator LCD that displays numbers for fuel and miles travelled, and a billion different danger lights that tell you if there's a problem somewhere. It also has electric windows and door locks. And cruise.

The problems the car has as it gets older are none of the electrical bits - they all work fine. It's the rear wheel bearings, suspension bushings, and center differential that wear out over time. Ironically, the most basic, mechanical parts.

  • Too real

  • If your engine blows in a normal car at that mileage, replacing the engine will cost several times the car's value as well. In either case, it's time to replace it with someting new(er) anyway.

  • EV batteries last a very long time when implemented right. Post-2015, and on cars not named the Nissan Leaf, batteries can last 10+ years and well over 200,000 miles. A Hyundai recently went in for a battery at 389,000 miles... all of which were not well maintained miles, as in, overnight to 100 percent, fast charge, drain to empty, etc. Hyundai bought the battery for Science reasons.

As for recycling, a company recently developed a system to turn used ev batteries into grid storage by literally plugging them into a special adapting charging controller.

This is in addition to recycling the batteries.

  • American Petroleum Institute... and the page is 404

  • The EV is definitely a money improvement. A new battery and the Subaru will sell for a pretty penny, though.

  • 184w for ~10 sec on my build. If I had an EV, charging that would be magnitudes higher than me poking my local ai models for stuff.

Not any worse than playing a VR game in the same span of time.

Also, the air conditioner is the biggest eater of my electric bill, not the computer.

  • They'll fix it... sounds like a skill issue, if base64 got fixed and performs better than c

  • Port 443

  • So the 95 percent is skill issue
