I got a much better response than anticipated. I love it! Ive been trying to make an effort to contribute to Lemmy instead of just lurking. I also started making some small contributions to Lemmy and Lemmy.world.
I love it here, thanks for your participation everyone!
+1 Syncthing-fork
Started using it a few months ago to sync notes between desktop and phone. Since it's just a synced directory ive also used it to copy other files back and forth quickly
Boot up in the morning, shut down before bed. Small home server that uses about $1.50/month in electricity that i leave on 24/7 running jellyfin and mealie
Plenty of Fish here too! It was my first time trying an online date after a bad breakup and my friends encouraging me to try it out. We talked on the phone for a couple weeks and then met for coffee and ended up talking for 3 hours. We've been together since (12+ years ago) and got married 8 years ago.
That way I can at least see who sold my info. I wish I would have started doing this long ago though. Some sites dont let you use the plus symbol even though it's valid though
I bought my first ereader this summer and got a Kindle and hated it. Returned it and got a Kobo. Its fantastic, I can just load my ebooks like it's an external drive. I dont have to email all my ebooks to Amazon just to get them on my own device.
It's the primary usage of my slow cooker :D I'm not sure of other techniques. But I love just tossing them in on a day I'm doing house or yard projects, stirring occasionally and really making the house smell great.
I love Apple Butter!! Apples were on sale for $2 a bag last week so I got extra and made apple butter out of a bag. I use a crock pot. 1 bag of apples peeled, cored, and rough chunked with some brown and white sugar, cinnamon, and touch of salt. Cook for 10 hours.
This response resonates to me. I would also add that after working all day looking at a computer screen and my mind is tired I like to enjoy other activities away from a screen. If I do look at a screen in the evenings, many times I dont want to think about a game or have to make choices for a game character. The times I really enjoy games are on the weekends. I imagine one day being an old man and getting to play video games all day again like I did when I was a child.
Thank you :)
