  • How old are the old days, I used CATIA V5 for a stretch around 20 years ago and I've mostly gelled with freecad pretty well (some odd decisions here and there and some bugs, though a lot of those can be attributed to the kernel). I'm wondering if I've just got an old CAD head.

  • Sorry, I meant any more details about sending books to kindle via USB - I've never had any issue doing this.

  • He somehow looks more normal and yet also more sinister.

  • The UK state pension is largely a Ponzi scheme, no? Those paying tax now fund those receiving pensions now with some promise that they'll get returns in the future. The only difference is it's backed by the currency issuer and they're pretty up front about it.

  • I can't say I've ever had many issues with Canon's PRO line and I'm aware of a few pro photographers who use them, certainly putting them at the same level as an entry level inkjet or laser seems a bit disingenuous. Definitely more expensive than one-offs at a good print shop, but as I say it's a hobby - finding time to get to a good print shop while they're actually open can take weeks which is next to useless in some cases.

  • I been rocking minidlna -> Kodi for 10+ years 😂

  • They're fine for charts and graphics, but they're going to lack depth and vibrancy on photos. It is what it is, I'm absolutely not dissing laser printers they're great, inkjets are just better for that job.

  • Or sometimes it's nice to have a good inkjet so you can print stuff on a whim, or tweak the colours if they don't turn out right. You can pick up a good inkjet for well under £500, it's not outrageous for a hobby. Regardless, inkjets have their place.

  • I'm all for open source laser, and lasers are great for some things, but they're trash for photo printing for instance. Inkjets are brilliant for lots of stuff.

  • Have you got a link to more info about it? I can't find details anywhere.

  • I'll be switching to kobo next time round, but I've never not been able to dump books onto my kindle by usb. I do it with my phone over USB sometimes. Since when has not doing that been a thing?

  • Behind the Bastards did a few episodes on him, he made some big financial bets on the basis it would collapse and lost out big. He seemingly did predict the crash but totally took the wrong decisions.

    Who'd have thunk eBay would've given us both him and Musk.

  • From what I know of him it's in line with his beliefs - he was expecting total societal collapse in the wake of the 2008 financial crisis.

  • I think I could probably read your DJ knowledge posts indefinitely, loving this.

  • Sometimes they send entirely inadequate instructions you know aren't going to work and then you have to go more than once. That's a pain in the ass.

  • It was a close run thing to be fair.

  • Pfft I've got a bigger moon.

  • On the lemmings one, have you never seen hexbear?
