  • What NVIDIA have told AIBs is completely unknown, but NVIDIA certainly hold all the power, if NVIDIA say ship them, they ship them.

Note there have been reports of FE cards, MSI, Zotac, Gigabyte and Manli all impacted.

  • I'm not trying to convince anyone of anything, for some reason some people just want to ignore the meaning of words. I'm not saying anyone feels super inconvenienced either, like I said they're minor inconveniences, but they're there and they grow.

Frankly I couldn't care less about sticking it to the man, I've been around the scene for 30 odd years at this point and I don't think that's ever been a motivator for me. I do like things that make it more convenient, more reliable and increase selection - I don't like things that make it more difficult, no matter how small.

  • In the nicest possible way, what you're both describing are minor inconveniences.

  • Zotac and PNY don't make the chips, NVIDIA at fault here. Some people care because they don't actually have a ton of money, but gaming is their hobby and they've saved up 2-3 years so they can afford a high end card because it's worth it to them the extra $50 or $100 represents the difference between being able to afford the card and not, or maybe having a couple of extra games to play on it.

  • Having to find a way around is an inconvenience.

  • In a way it's a credit to your democracy, for whatever consolation that brings.

  • FAFO block passes better

  • Of all the gen z lingo yeet is the best.

  • A physical (or physical-ish) button is pretty much my main driver. I also like the little bit more freedom I'd have with a kobo.

  • I felt the same about my Voyage, but I've resolved to move to kobo once it bites the dust.

  • There's a pun in there to be had...

  • My use case is primarily real time data capture - raw log is written to disk and can be recovered from, although at that point we'd have fallen back on the secondary as primary would now be suspect.

  • Yeah in memory databases can be super fast.

  • No-one said they had to be easily read for humans.

  • Gearbox?

  • Wouldn't say I'm burnt out but sure as shit I'm struggling to keep up.

  • I've noticed them posting all over every thread recently, yet to see a good take.

  • Conversely, do you think they're going to let people fire RPGs at it?

  • Secondary PSA Seagate use some godawful numbering scheme on their SMART results, if you're not aware of the fact you need a calculator understand the raw error count it will freak you the fuck out.
