  • If you won't try it then maybe that's true. But I tried it, even gave it a full hour because it's supposed to take 45 minutes for the algorithm to learn what you want to see, but even after an hour it was still showing me things i had little to no interest in.

  • Hm, the imgur app on Android has never crashed on my devices. Are you on iPhone?

  • Lower decks reporting for doody

  • Interesting thought experiment - is a pc exactly as efficient as a resistive space heater? In a pc some tiny amount of electricity is converted to light and sound and kinetic energy instead of heat. But then again, don't those other forms of energy just eventually just turn back into heat again? Hmmm...

  • Electric heaters literally cost 25 bucks

  • The only thing changing here is the way cables are going to be labeled, the tech itself is staying exactly the same.

And on top of that, the author was generally correct for most situations, but usb (and especially usb c) truly has replaced a ton of separate connectors with a single standard. And it's very likely to continue to replace even more as time goes on

  • No it wouldn't. Meta just stopped selling the very expensive Quest Pro because the very affordable Quest 3 moved massively more units. Almost no one wants a VR headset that costs more than a thousand dollars because the 300 buck devices already do almost the exact same things

  • Seriously, the mods need to step. This is a technology community, not a business community.

  • Raw AF

  • Great, now i feel sad for a blue bin

  • Is this actually a post about technology? I feel like more and more posts here are about business or politics rather than about technology. I don't give a shit about business, i just wanna see stories about technology.

  • You can sometimes do it anyway by right clicking (or long hold tap) on the text field to get a contextual menu popup

  • I think they're looking for something portable so they want the device to be as small as possible

  • Exactly, it entirely depends on context. In a big city they all have to be fenced, but in a rural area where the playground is in a giant open field then it's fine to be unfenced

  • That video of the rich prick at a coffee shop who throws something at the worker and then gets put in a headlock and held on the ground and struggles weakly

  • Wait, you're swapping hardware to switch to a different OS? Why? Just make a dual boot system
