  • AOC has never claimed to be a communist or freedom fighter. Socialist will still compromise to forward their agenda.

And I’m trying to stick to OC’s statement. AOC is the most left leaning person in these hypothetical primaries who is polling anywhere near Kamala and Newsom (who I believe will be the front runners). Unless someone else shows up better by late 2027. We need to put our support behind AOC if she decides to run. It’s the most left we can get. And honestly, the primary dosent need to be 5 DSAs all splitting the vote. Chose 1, and ride with them.

  • I don’t think centrist attacks of “can a woman win” in the 2028 primary will even work consider AOC and Kamala are 2 of the front runners in polling/enthusiasm. The only male up there with them is Newsom. There is no Biden-like candidate with the Obama rub to skirt by.

AOC is in prime position in 2028 as long as there’s no other DSA-like candidate splitting their vote.

Honestly her biggest challenge in 2028, is gonna be the progressive biggest challenge in 2016 and 2024 that they keep ignoring. THE BLACK VOTERS! Bernie refused to target that demo, despite them making up a huge portion of the democratic electorate, and right now Kamala is polling around 35%-45% of the black vote. If she walks into South Carolina/Super Tuesday with those numbers, she gonna be the nominee easily.

Fortunately for AOC, she more motion with black voters than Bernie and has actually been reaching out to them this year on her media events.

  • See I don’t understand what you people mean by that? Is this because she stuck by Biden and Harris during the campaign trail??? That’s hoe you do successful politics. It’s easier to get your agenda through when the executive branch is controlled by your party.

Example. If Kamala won the 2024 election and had similar margins in congress as Trump does now. Progressives in the house like AOC would have enough votes to block all of her reconciliation (budget bills the US needs to fund itself), until she conditioned aid to Israel. Or Harris could fight with them on that GOR FOUR YEARS, and get nothing meaningful done.

Progressives in the house can’t do any of that right now, because the executive branch is controlled by Donald Trump.

  • Listen, I’m a pretty nuanced guy here in left wing politics. I believe in. Regulating capitalism, not destroying it, I don’t believe in throwing marginalized people under the bus to appeal to conservatives who never vote blue and I think we need to make sure wages go up before prices go down, iykyk.

All that said, even I’m telling you to give these DSA people a try. Will the succeed in their agenda? Probably not, you have to flip actual Republican seats to do so. But dammit they’re gonna try.

Also not a quote from this article

“Are more positive toward the Democratic Party. They are more likely to hold favorable views of the Democratic Party (68% to 60%) and its congressional leaders, and more likely to have negative views of the Republican Party and its congressional leaders”

The DSA are literally more favorable to the Democratic project than the so called “moderates”.

  • /s?

  • True, but none of that matters for 2028

  • Why does this sub think her identity will stop her? Incumbents ALWAYS struggle with reelection when the economy is bad.

YOU could run in 2028, and probably beat the republicans.

  • Non of that even matters. When the economy is “bad” according to the public. The incumbent always loses the presidential election. AOC can easily win in 2028, so can Kamala, so can Newsom. Years like 2012 were seen as “bad” for the economy to the average person, that’s where the media narrative around that election falls apart. But 92 and 76 both show that bad economies end presidencies.

  • Bruh I’m trollin, you think anyone who actually follows politics year round votes 3rd party? lol

  • He literally says in the video he cannot arrest him.

  • You DSA jobbers talk like it cost money to vote “even if it stinks”.

It’s electoral politics, get over yourselves.

Also, vote 3rd party, vote green or socialist party of America

  • Didn’t this guy promise he’d arrest him? More sloppulist fallacies?

  • Revoke the Trump voting migrants first

    1. Obamacare originally had a public option and didn’t have the votes. Also, what stopped Bernie from proposing Medicare For All for the last 10 years, he’s a literal Senator genius.
    2. The “party” did not choose Hillary Clinton over Bernie Sanders. The black voters did, the same voters he failed to reach out to, this is a demo Hillary and Biden aggressively targeted.
    3. You sound like a MAGAT, everything isn’t rigged against you and you’re not always right you pretentious spoiled fuck.
  • “Pritt had realized that the "Democratic Party of today is not the Democratic Party that our parents grew up with."

Not the glaze the Democrats, but I’m assuming this guy is Gen X or elder Millennial. All the Dems have done since the 80s/90s have done is move left on social services/regulation (slowly) and become more inclusive.

Today’s Dems are objectively better than the era his parents grew up with.

  • China is doing worse than the west right now.

  • Hillary got more votes in the primary. If you can’t win a primary, there’s no reason to cry about your chances in the general.

  • I 100% agree. Dems don’t have to do this. Kamala literally gained more white support than Biden, Hillary and Obama 2012. Suburban White voters aren’t fleeing over trans stuff the way the media is trying to portray it.

But they’re winning the messaging battle.

  • Nope. White people could fix all of this now if they simply voted better. But we know they won’t. No Dem has managed to win the white vote since Civil Rights passed. White people literally turned on the Dems over social issues.

Now let me tell you why the Hispanic vote is at fault instead. Barack beat John McCain by 10M votes, the largest presidential victory in the 21st century, Dems gained 59 seats in the senate off of that election. They had a large majority in the house after that election. 2008 is seen as good as Dem can perform in the modern era.

And you wanna what percentage Obama got the white vote in 2008?

    43%

Yes, Obama got damn near the same percentage of white voters as Kamala Harris. And Trump around the same as McCain. Both Obama and Harris had lopsided black support.

So where does that leave us? Kamala more white support than Obama 2012, Biden and Hilary (way more than Hillary surprisingly). Yet, she performed worse than both of them and way worse than Obama. How could this be? The answer is simple.

HISPANIC VOTERS SWUNG LIKE 40 PTS TO THE RIGHT! NO DEM CAN WIN A PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION IF THE REPUBLICAN IS GETTING 46% OF THE HISPANIC VOTE!
