  • What happens then is that I will be responding to a moral argument based in facts, and not a fucking hypothetical that may as well be an excuse for genocide. If in 13 months the Trump administration has aided Israel in the slaughter of another 100,000 children, we can start talking about how voting Democrats as "damage mitigation" is a duty to humanity. Until then I will try my best to assume you're making the argument in good faith and that you truly believe that ending genocide is a moral priority.

  • It'll he more honest than the intricate and prrvasive way criticism of Israel is shut down at every level of government, media, education institutions and private industry today. Just putting into law what is already practiced.

  • The only people who voted for the genocidaire I would consider to be engaging in serious harm mitigation are those who also use every other means afforded to them to stop the genocide. As for the people who have little to say about the fact that they have been presented two genocidaires as presidents - and even less to do - you're even more grotesque when you invoke human rights.

  • Likening to an abstract hypothetical moral problem is very appropriate to the way you people think. At the end of the day politics for you is a lever you pull every few years and the catharsis or disappointment involved.

By the way, kindly save your "I told you so" and "trolley problem" bullshit for after Trump has allowed Israel to slaughter a larger number of children than Biden did for the past 13 months.

  • You may be surprised to learn that Bibi wasn't on any ballots anywhere in the US.

Record breaking ovations and applause for him in Congress, so why should I care?

Harris who wants to pressure Israel into a cease fire

So you're either a liar or a moron, huh.

  • Your argument is insane. For example, I would never, ever, ever expect a Jewish person to vote for a politician who is exterminating Jewish children, even if I could make a rational argument that their opponent is worse for Jewish people.

You need to contend with fundamental human nature and you need to recognize that the Democratic Party for the past 13 months has acted beyond the moral pale. They have violated the red moral lines drawn by the world since 1945 and have done so with pride and sometimes caprice.

Being petulant towards people who could not bring themselves to vote for a genocidaire, and treating their very human revulsion and horror as petulance, marks you as an untrustworthy person who is unserious about human rights or liberal values.

  • There isn't going to be peace in my region until any of the regional powers once again has hegemony. Right now this region is a shatter belt, that is a region where regional and global powers treat as a battleground. That's why a revolution against Syria's government devolved into American, Russian, Turkish, Kurdish, Iranian, Israeli, Iraqi and Lebanese aircraft militias and armies directly involved, with even more indirectly involved.

Sadly the next few decades portend a collapse of the current authoritarian stability and even more Syria-like disasters.

  • I think that there is one issue which Trump will deliver the Dems what they really want, and they won't stand in his way as he does it: liquidating Palestine entirely. In the next ten years if nothing is done by Arab nations, the UN or the US left, Israel will likely declare war on the Palestinian Authority itself, exiling or killing its leaders if they do not submit to Israeli sovereignty over the entirety of Palestine.

  • So long as the Democratic Party leadership are reliant on corporate funding, obsessed with American power projection, smitten with Israel, pensive about worker rights and in lock-step with security and intelligence establishment, there is no hope. You will have on one hand a conservative party that shows antipathy and disdain for real liberal norms (Democratic establishment) and a rabid, evil party intent on reshaping America and the world to reflect white Christian nationalist fanaticism (Republicans.)

10 years ago I would have told you that the Dems are playing a dangerous game with their interventionism. Today they consigned 1 million children to starve, be blown to smithereens and die in order to enable the revenge of a leader who is as corrupt as Trump and far more bloodthirsty. Kamala calls Trump a "fascist" and gives Netanyahu a UN veto and 2000lb bounds to drop near hospitals. This is indiciative of a party that is morally rotten and cannot be relied upon to safeguard anyone's rights.

  • Maybe they bought into Kamala's messaging that Trump had no chance and that even Republicans hated him. No point turning up if its as good as won.

  • Ten Z didn't vote Trump in. They simply voted for Kamala less.

  • If I was being honest I'd add "literally anyone whos firm has any connections to a NATO government" but then I'd be called a consoiracy theorist. But as for GCC, that's a more direct threat to lives of dissidents.

  • They should definitely not allow investment from anyone associated with Trump admin, the Pentagon etc.

  • It needs A) same functionality B) ban all forms of racism, especially Zionism and C) refuse investment from undemocratic nations like GCC or China

  • The logical answer is that Chuck Schumer, Bill Clinton, John Fetterman, Joe Biden and many, many, many other Democratic Party top brass and elected representatives, agree with this genocide and wish for nothing more than for the earth to swallow up the million children in Gaza (well, it used to be a million) so that the Jewish state can be more secure.

The logical answer is that Christian dispensationalism, Jewish supremacism (promulgated openly in the past by liberal heroes like Churchill) and deep disdain for Muslims and Arabs are baked into this old guard.

The logical answer is that the US political system is a plaything of special interests and that Christian fundamentalists, Israeli lobbyists and Jewish nationalists have successfully thwarted attempts by America's moral majority to hold Israel accountable.

  • I did read it. It's very simple: they believe it will be more politically expedient under Trump to annex the West Bank. They are correct. But I strongly believe that if they had done it under Biden, the sanctions and punjshments they could expect would have been minimal regardless. This is a man who has helped them exterminate what is likely to be 100,000 children.
