  • I have had the exact opposite experience for the most part, but sometimes hurt people hurt people and older people can carry a lot of pain from life.

  • As a long time Zelda fan I never understood any of the hate for BOTW from other long time fans. That being said I haven't been able to play it since TOTK came out because TOTK is what BOTW was missing for me.

  • The evidence we have suggests that Ancient Israelite culture evolved from Ancient Canaanite civilization. The earliest documentation of Israel as a people was dated around 1208 BCE in Egypt. So if we were rolling it back to see who is first, evidence suggests we give it to anyone with direct link to the ancient Canaanites regardless of their religious affiliation which includes modern day Israelis and Palestinians.

  • If they cheat, it's over. No exceptions.

  • I personally don't see it as a very complicated question. Historical wrongs exist for all people, so we either need to right every single one and upend everything around us now or we need to start burying hatchets and working together on the land we share now while reconciling those past wrongs.

Why would they give it back to the Greeks? To my knowledge, the Greeks took the land they controlled in modern day Turkey from Persia under Alexander the Great.

But that does support the point: If we were to "give the land back" in Turkey, who gets it? We have recorded history in the area, but what about the time before recorded history considering we only have about 6,000 years to go on Globally and our species has been around for about 300,000 years? Even if we put that aside, who's recorded history do we go on? Does that mean those with oral histories get the shaft? If we find any point where the indigenous group conquered and killed another for the land, is their claim void?

I think this idea is only complicated when we take the "land back" route instead of the "working together to make things better" route.

  • Personally I think anyone trying to "reclaim" a slur is an ignoramus. Not everyone agrees with the use of those words in any context so it doesn't matter if you are "card carrying", it still doesn't make it okay to say in mixed company where you don't know how that word will impact those present.

I have seen this in action numerous times with different groups where someone catches a beating for dropping a slur even though they were "allowed" to say it.

  • Not everyone agrees with it.

  • In my home province a Tribe recently codified their own constitution. The surrounding tribes have already contested their claim to some of the lands the Tribe in question has claimed as their own.

I think the big question before we can talk about where we draw the line for "resistance" is how far back in history are we going to go to declare the "rightful" owners of land, and who gets to decide where the borders are after?

Maybe it is time our species finally acted as a whole instead of continuing to pretend we all aren't the exact same, and work to make the lands we all share today habitable for everyone.

  • A cult is a group of people with extreme devotion to a person, place, object or idea.

    Negative: The Peoples Temple

    Positive: The Satanic Temple

  • First and foremost, not all cults are negative. From that point we can have the scale be cult specific.

    Negative Cult(-1) - Benign Cult (0) - Positive Cult (+1)

The opposite I would assume would be non spiritual groups of people who connect in another way outside of something "spiritual", without a set standard for beliefs provided by a singular leader required to be member to the group.

    Negative Group(-1) - Benign Group (0) - Positive Group(+1)

  • Whatever you say.

  • Be the change you want to see and stop making drama.

  • It is interesting to me that you assume I am offended by your statement, when in reality I am just pointing out that you are factually wrong. If the Global average, comprised of over 8.2 billion people, is 5'7.5" then 5'7" is not "short". One person "appreciating your honesty" doesn't change the fact that you are objectively wrong.

You are also responding so should I assume that I am correct in thinking that you are simply an ignoramus who refuses to accept they are wrong? Considering I have 0 reason to be insecure about my height, and you have nothing but an average guy thanking you to support your very subjective opinion on the matter, I think my assumption may be correct and don't feel the need to respond further.

  • I asked "Why do you believe that anyone down voting you is insecure?". Still waiting.

  • Why should I answer your question if you refuse to answer mine?

  • Why do you believe that anyone down voting you is insecure? Personally I down voted you because you are factually incorrect, and I would assume that is why others are doing so.

  • 5'9" is also not much bigger than 5'7', so it still isn't "quite short" in comparison.

    Why would I feel insecure?

  • You don’t think that’s a significant difference in average height?

I literally just said that, so yes.

Cuz that’s a pretty big difference to me. Denmark’s average being around 6’ when most of the rest of us consider that tall is pretty significant

I am 193cm and my partner is about 35cm smaller than me. That is a significant difference in my opinion, while 16cm is not.
