Migrating here (or maybe keeping both) from @ArcaneSlime@lemmy.ml

Will put an eternal curse on your enemies for a Cinemageddon invite.

  • Thanks, I need it lmao! Kitten had a fucked up leg and it's juuuuust about healed, I've been putting off introduction until the cone comes off, but it's gonna have to happen soon, she wants out of the quarantine room.

  • Ugh this is about to be my house. My big one looks like this too (but the tiny one is grey), and she's not happy we have a new resident, just keeps hissing every time they see each other through the doorway.

  • Smoketoomuch: Yes, I'm sorry, I can't say the letter 'B'.

Me, misunderstanding: Ah word I gotchu cuz, what's crackin' 6?

This is the second gang reference I've made in this sub in as many days lol, which isn't a lot but it's weird it happened twice.

  • Never talked to any gang members huh?

Well, the joke is that Bloods can't say things beginning with the letter C, like "Cat," and the above comment repeatedly used "brat" to replace "cat" as would be done by a Blood. For instance, they don't say "cracking," they'll replace the C, making it "bracking." Crips will do the reverse, saying C where there once was a B. Yes it's ridiculous, but that's what they do, and the joke requires knowledge of this to understand. They also have numbers ascribed to their gangs, 5 is bloods, 6 is crips, so "what's brackin' 5" would be something said by some Damu out there to another (a Damu being a member of the bloods, damu means blood in Swahili iirc, and tbf he'd actually say "what's poppin 5" instead but brackin' was necessary for the joke.)

Yes it is silly. Now enjoy my favorite old Blood music video from the 47 Miller Gang, If U Blood Throw It Up

  • It looks like I'm using an adblocker you say? Well, I have to agree there!

Short of being able to actually read the article, "free my mans he didn't do nothing." So what he had weed and guns including destructive devices according to the ATF, did he hurt anyone or was he just mega fucking cool? If nobody was harmed and he didn't have a manifesto, the worst crimes he's guilty of are "possessing metal we say no to" and "smoking herbs we say no to," I.E "not shit."

Now, if he did hurt someone or threaten his wife or some shit, then yeah, lock him up and give me his guns and weed for safe keeping.

  • While true, the pun still implies

men are at fault for her not liking men. Saying it's women would imply she is attracted to women

And tbf, that's such a common trope of a joke I wouldn't be surprised if it was the intentional implication by the author. My question, for everyone who uses that hack joke, is "does that mean you think being gay is a choice?"

It is a good pun though, this is probably one of the better executions of that trope I've seen.

  • If only it was that easy to get rid of you.

    A) an open usually circular vessel with sloping or curving sides used typically for holding water for washing

    B) chiefly British : a bowl used especially in cooking

    C) the quantity contained in a basin spilled a basin of water on the floor

Not only is that not a measurement the US uses, the only geographical location mentioned in the definition is "chiefly British."

    So, uh, "no."

  • What're you in The Bloods, you can't say cat? C'mon 5, what's brackin'?

  • "Hot" in reference to snakes means venomous, and I know some centipedes have venom, so my assumption is that.

  • What the fuck is up with this void up front's tail, why he have fin?

Hang on, is this a double sided cat?

  • Oh TIL, good to know! Thanks!

  • A stray with a collar? I suspect that is someone's cat they let roam. I hope so, anyway.

  • Plasma rifle.

  • Pools closed.

  • Cat gonna spray, can't get that smell out of whatever it's on, gotta trash it. It's not piss, piss is better.

  • In fact, I can think of a few reasons the US gov shouldn't even be trusted to fund this. Namely the CIA/NSA possibly saying "bitch we fund you, don't report these things we exploit or no more money." Did it happen? Don't know. Does "US gov funded" immediately make me suspicious of it happening? Yes.

  • Also texting on Nokias happened, many were invented to save clicks.

Furthermore it's arguably natural for organizations to be abbreviated/initialized and it's not an American phenomenon, as evidenced by the кгб and фсб; or the YPG, KSB, YPJ; ETC.
