Migrating here (or maybe keeping both) from @ArcaneSlime@lemmy.ml

Will put an eternal curse on your enemies for a Cinemageddon invite.

  • But they are denying the current persecution of the uyghurs; denying the various historical atrocities like the holodomor, Tienanmen square, the katyn massacre, etc; excusing the ones they can't deny; and simping for authoritarianism. Oh and lets not forget a decent contingent of them agree with nutomic that transness is bourgoise.

So what you're saying is tankies should be violently persecuted for their words with no other provocation by people like me who disagree with them. Lucky for you, were we arguing IRL I wouldn't get violent until you do, because I'm not a piece of shit. Enjoy it all you like, and I'll judge you all I like.

  • Sure, then again tankies suck but I don't think people should initiate violence against them for their words, I'll just argue or cut comtact. Guess that's what makes me better than you.

  • I'm gonna be honest, kicking the shit out of a nerd because you don't agree with his words is not as cool as you seem to think.

Sure he was "wrong," but did anyone try "please leave, we no longer wish to discuss these matters with you" before jumping to initiating violence? Multiple attackers no less (which would meet the threshold of deadly force in most states, luckily for them not Greece).

Back in my day children were taught to use their words, but I guess immature adults that are incapable of doing so still have to bully people physically, sucks to suck I guess, get eloquent losers.

  • Oh you seemed like you thought it was legal and that we should consider criminalizing it, but you mean we should make it double illegal. Good plan!

  • Oh well I guess I do that then lol. My technique (which is, I think, normal) is to melt my butter (probably too much) on like 2, really low, and then crank it to maybe 4.5-5ish and throw the food on as it warms up, then do the food cooking part (whatever that needs depending.)

  • Spicy Nacho or I send a HIMARS M30A1

  • It's not legal for 16yos to carry guns in school.

  • Alright you've piqued my interest, what's this technique? I have no problems with sticking on my buttered steel pan as is so I'm wondering if I already do something close.

  • I sit right where this pic was taken from and start clicking my tongue and blinking at em. Their move.

  • I know of such a man. Makes a convincing argument too, that I'll be wholly unable to properly articulate, but my dumbed down understanding is that (in addition to other things) the "feathers" could be decomposed collagenous fibers from the skin of dinosaurs rather than true feathers, and we're not actually sure even though feathers are the pushed theory. And he also doesn't believe in flight evolving ground up, but rather trees down, basically not from creatures jumping away from predators but from them gliding away to another tree. His theory being that one actually works well to get you away from predators while the other would be less likely to be successful and more likely to get eaten before passing on the genes. Also something about the Yi qi.

Idk if he's right, but tbf idk if the other people are either, who knows.

  • Well racism and people's perception of stereotypes often aren't backed up by actual statistics.

The study isn't saying pitbulls are more often owned by black people, it says people think that to be the case regardless of evidence.

It'd be like a study asking what race you think are the worst drivers, even if "most" people say "Asian" because of the common trope, it doesn't mean that is true statistically, it just means that stereotype is commonly believed by the study's participants.

  • Ehhh they're an invasive species with a parasitic larval stage, we're fucked. The more we appease the more their numbers grow and the less likely we are to be able to satiate them, much less them and any sizable human population (though there wouldn't be a sizable human population very long).

"One" question (ok one multi-part question), does anyone have data on the life cycle? How long until eggs hatch, how long in larval stage, how long until the little guy that bursts out becomes an H. R. Geiger penis monster, how many eggs can those penis monsters lay per day, and how many calories do they need for their daily intake?

  • I do, but idk how that effects that problem since I stopped using it due to that problem. Also, ironically, removing sms support killed a big selling point, and the fact that phone numbers are still required is pretty lame.

  • Well facts lol, or any phone because telcoms have been keeping records on landlines since at least ~1982.

  • Yeah that's the "kinda" part, sometimes for sure that happens, but that's different than say something like "literally now means figuratively due to people misusing it" doesn't mean it's actually correct even if a dictionary were to adopt it.

Furthermore I believe words don't have to be in the dictionary to be "correct," imo embiggen is a perfectly cromulent word whether or not some people who compile a book agree. I just don't think that "many being incorrect" deserves to be a reason words change to new meanings necessarily, maybe sometimes, but sometimes also "no they're just wrong."

Bovine is more scientific, I can't say that I've heard it in regular speech myself, but 'round here people usually say cow, steer, or bull depending on which it is.

  • Cats should be kept indoors, but moreover your neighbor is a piece of shit and I hope he gets what he deserves. Get a super soaker you fucking monster, shooting someone's pet with something that travels around 200 mph is a bad look. After he baited them at that, I understand that wasn't his intention but the cats are just living by their basic instincts, it's not their fault. If he really was interested in stopping them rather than being cruel humane traps are cheap, just do what normal fucking people do, catch it, drive it 5-10mi, and release it somewhere it's no longer your problem, or drive it to the nearest no kill shelter. But no, can't be a decent human, it's more fun to break their ribs and possibly let them slowly internally bleed to death because they committed the crime of wanting to eat.

I'd rat him out for animal cruelty right now if I knew his name and location.

  • Ehhh, kinda. If enough people call a duck a chicken for dictionary.com to add

    1. (loosely) some call ducks chickens

That doesn't mean ducks are now chickens, it just means so many people were incorrect it had to be noted.
