  • I hope you eventually teach him about the audience script. I wouldn't take him to a live showing till highschool though.

  • Yeah, in the water it's a whole different story. They can outswim Micheal Phelps, and Mark Spitz as though those two were sitting still.

  • My father got into serious trouble with my mom when my little brother was two because of Blazing Saddles. My mom had taken me somewhere, and my brother was in the playroom playing with blocks. Dad figured it was safe to watch Blazing Saddles, as little bro wasn't able to see the TV, and he could see little bro.

A few days later, little bro walks up to my mother and casually called her a "tonic bitch," and wandered off.

Needless to say Mel Brooks was banned in our house for a few years, but we all loved it when we were allowed to watch it. Spaceballs as well.

  • Nope. I didn't see that movie till I was 23 and my reaction at the end was, "Your parents showed you this as a kid and thought that was ok, but TMNT was 'too violent'‽" This was said to my girlfriend at the time. That movie was DARK. I haven't seen it since then, so about 20 years, and IIRC genocide, slavery, and the apocalypse all feature heavily in the main plot, and almost the only redeeming character in the movie was named Fizzgig. He was a mutant Pomeranian.

  • Gators are easy to deal with. Get them to bite a stick, they will. Once their jaws are closed, a 7 year old child could keep their jaws closed with some difficulty. A full grown adult can easily hang on to their jaws. Then you get a buddy or two to throw the thing back in the water.

They're fast in the water, and can do really short sprints on land. More like repeated lunges, really. On land we are much faster and have a lot more endurance. Not saying you shouldn't be careful, but unless you're a kid or elderly, gators aren't really a concern.

We don't have crocodiles in North America, outside of zoos, thankfully. Those monsters are a pain to deal with, I assume, since I have never seen a video of drunk Egyptians or drunk Australians wrangling them. I have seen drunk Floridians wrangle gators in person, so I'm certain videos exist.

  • He's openly defying the SCOTUS, and nothing is happening. The law doesn't apply to him, therefore it doesn't apply to us. We are all already dead in the US. Stay armed. If they come for you, make them pay with their lives. Make them fear "just following orders."

If you're in the US, you're already dead. Your body just hasn't gotten the message yet. Fight like the cornered badgers we are.

  • I don't want to meet anyone that can successfully carry and then throw a cassowary. I'm 192 cm, and 61 kg, and I am certain that I couldn't manage to restrain a cassowary to carry the thing, much less throw one. The weight isn't the difficulty factor here, it's the damn deinonychus looking feet, and beak that I'm worried about.

  • Stop the stream, pull back on the head of your dick so that the urethra is fully opened. That should fix about 90% of your split stream issues.

  • The point isn't to take out all of ICE. The point is that if they come for you, you are already dead. Your body just hasn't stopped moving yet. Cops have shit aiming skills. If you open your door with a Molotov Cocktail and a shotgun, you are taking the quick death, and giving the ones you don't kill and maim a real and present danger for every single time they follow illegal orders. If you just go peacefully, you're the only one that is gonna die, and you are going to die as a slave in an El Salvadorian prison.

  • No, their solution was to ask you what country you actually deem safe. Something you appear to be incapable of answering.

  • Parking lots are about the only thing more wasteful in terms of land usage

  • Being excited for a dump truck of free mulch

  • Pete Hegseth is steadily turning the military against himself and Drumpf. They seem to have forgotten the demographics of the rank and file.

  • Time to bring back Oceanliners

  • And a tourist chopper in NYC 6 dead.

  • I view it as slightly better than that interpretation. The Old Testament is what links the three. The interesting thing about the Old Testament is that it was written over a few thousand years starting around the time of two major historical events that could have precipitated what would look like a potential "apocalypse," to anyone at the time.

The Green Sahara period had just come to an end, denying Egypt what I would imagine was a substantial breadbasket for the Egyptian, and possibly Assyrian Empires. That event may not have directly caused The Bronze age collapse, but they happened quickly enough together, that I would imagine it was a factor.

So in a period of a few hundred years, a savannah that had plentiful game and foraging turned into the largest desert in the world. The Levant went from a seemingly temperate mediterranian climate, aka "the promised land," to a desert mediterranian climate. All the empires that you know of just collapsed in a period of 150 years. You might just get a bit superstitious, and borrow some ancient creation myths to write down the "history" of your people.

Lots of cultures did this. We know from archeological evidence that the Israelites weren't ever in Egypt, so everything up to, and including Moses, was made up to try to teach their descendants how to live in this new horrible dying world. It's just absolute random chance that the Israelite texts survived long enough to spawn the other two belief systems.

  • Interesting. That's almost the opposite of Baha'is. Baha'is don't proselytize because everyone is a Baha'i. They just haven't discovered it for themselves yet, and they have to do that, it's not the job of the Baha'is to do anything but live the best way they can. Their "Kingdom of God," or afterlife is also distinctly different from the concept of Heaven and Hell as well.

  • Keeping your head down just ensures they come for you a little later.

  • Why not continue the brick shell at least to eye level? Why does it stop at waist level?
