I have trouble with using tone in my words but not interpreting tone from others' words. Weird, isn't it?

  • this sounds about right for me. i'd like to note that the one-child policy was replaced by the two-child policy in 2015 and three-child in 2021, with provincial (about the size of a US state) governments like Sichuan able to abolish it entirely. as seen in 2015, the cultural impact of the one-child policy was already too effective, though

  • you'd be surprised. I'm not sure which term is the most popular for this, but Japanese ACG terms have been borrowed a ton within the Chinese ACG fandom, which is where you'd use this term. 腐女 is definitely one valid term.

    The United Nations was shocked, U.N. spokesperson Stephane Dujarric said on Friday, when a Fox News host called for the world body to be bombed over U.S. President Donald Trump's difficulties with an escalator and a teleprompter.

    Watters made the remarks while discussing Trump's address to world leaders at the U.N. General Assembly on Tuesday. Trump complained about an elevator that had stopped shortly after he stepped onto it and a teleprompter that did not work.

    "What we need to do is either leave the U.N. or we need to bomb it," Watters said. "Maybe gas it ... we need to destroy it."

    The United Nations has said the escalator abruptly stopped after Trump and first lady Melania Trump stepped on to it likely because a White House videographer accidentally triggered a safety mechanism. Trump also experienced issues with the teleprompter, but a U.N. official said it was being operated by the White House.

    A 95% renewable microgrid with 5% gas backup - in line with the UK’s Clean Power 2030 target - was modelled at almost a third (31.7%) lower cost than scenario 1 in today’s prices. In this model, the gas is restricted to just under 80MW (2/3rds the size of the data centre) and the model correspondingly chooses a larger battery for storage, and increases the size of wind and solar technologies.

    I'm confused; how does 5% equal 2/3 the size of the data center modeled?

    (Edit: Someone else suggested this: "I think the gas can supply 2/3 of the power that the data centre requires for situations when there is no sun or wind but only makes up 5% of the total energy used over a year.")
