  • If people claimed to have cancer without a diagnosis by a medical professional

Not my question. If someone posts on Lemmy saying they have cancer and asks a question about detection being better these days, would you go out of your way to ask them if they have actually been diagnosed with cancer? It's pretty fucking out there to do so.

as often as people claim to have neurodivergence

    This is plain fucking rude.

  • Influence and cause are completely different things. If you cannot distinguish between those two things then linking you to research is pointless.

  • It is one way (of many) which can be used; the suggestion isn't from someone who is involved in the implementation, just someone on Instagram.

  • You are assuming that is the only way which is being considered. The suggestion (of app stores verifying) is from someone who has no power in implementation.

  • Who said it alone would solve the problem?

  • ...huh?

  • Research has been done, and no.

  • Have you been formally diagnosed by a psychiatrist or other qualified healthcare professional?

Would you ask that to someone who told you they have cancer?

  • If you test more, you detect more.

  • ... I didn't say it was.

  • Dinkum

  • Do you think they aren't?

  • A quote in the article suggests it should be the app stores verifying which is even more fucking stupid.

    Why?

  • Good but not great ones.

  • Why? It's a few hundred dollars, not a car or something.

  • When will the Democrats have a new leader? To then get rid of this idiot.

  • ok

  • Yes, I should have clarified that as non-physical/digital media. Current platforms are a rough equivalent of renting movies.

  • Books: a variety of ways to purchase, with products a uniform quality. Yes, the file sizes are tiny, but it's true, they are as they should be, they are adjustable to the device you use, and have extra - useful - features because of digitalisation.

Audio: a variety of services offering pretty much the same stuff. Spotify is basic but works. Tidal is higher quality. My disappointment comes from the fact that it is still region-dependent, I cannot sign up for Tidal where I am. There is also stuff like Bandcamp for those who want to be 'closer'.
