  • Except for stone cold badass Mr prez, who just pops up with a triumphant fist pump.

Trump (like Reagan) was literally an actor, before becoming President. It is not that surprising that Trump can "act" when given an opportunity which arises.

We never saw damage to the ear tissue, just blood streaked on the skin.

Ear wounds bleed like crazy. It could be just a little nick.

Dude just casually climbs up to an extremely obvious vantage point with a long gun a stone’s throw away from someone under Secret Service protection, during an extremely public showing of an extremely controversial figure, and is allowed time to set up the shot.

Never attribute to malice that which is adequately explained by stupidity.

Also if not incompetence, it would require a lot of people in on the conspiracy - random officers. That sort of thing leaks, unless everybody are really competent. And team Trump is simply not that competent.

It would also require the shooter to more-or-less agree to be murdered.

  • Then why do you think it was scripted? Why wasn't is just a guy missing his shot?

  • So Trump lied about the bullet hitting his ear. There absolutely was a shooter and a bullet - just because Trump lied about his ear, it doesn't mean you can just ignore the dead firefighter bystander, and pretend there were no shooter or bullet.

  • I love the guy, and I love what he’s doing.

What exactly is it she thinks Trump is doing so well? Trump genuinely has done nothing good, right?

  • Despite the fact that Microsoft was where it was then because IBM had chosen DOS for its PC operating system until that time.

Is this actually morally bad? Unless MS had promised otherwise, isn't it just competition?

  • To not get sued, if there is an error which causes harm, I assume?

It seems free for CleanTechnica to include the disclaimer, so I guess why not have the disclaimer?

  • And large physics models are simulations, aren’t they?

No. Not by any definition of "simulation" I know.

  • in plain english, like the AI techbros you despise, you’ve given up your ability to think.

The unthinking AI haters are all over social media. They keep saying that AI can't really think. But ironically, the "arguments" they usually use is the worst kind unthinking regurgitated groupthink slob.

  • but nothing they produce will live up to the hype

We just want the next book to be about the same as the previous books. There is not "hype" here?

  • NASA is too focused on creating a moon base which is dumb as shit.

    Why dumb?

Even if you want a Mars base eventually, it seems like a good idea to get some practice building a similar moon base first. Many of the problems will be the same, but it will be much easier, cheaper, and safer to learn them in a place which is only days away from resupply.

  • But does a US President even have the right to send US citizens to The Hague? I imagine not, since the US is not a signatory.

If there is no legal US framework, then sending them to The Hague against their will would presumably literally be a crime under US law. In principle, US President can't just kidnap people.

  • As your article says, Ford falsely claimed it. So I can imagine it is a widespread misconception.

  • No matter what they produce

Now, I agree that we have no right to demand anything from them.

But... their output rate has been genuinely abysmal. If we had a right to demand anything at all from them (we don't), then it would be quite reasonable to ask them to at least finish one book every 10 years...

  • But this is a bombshell, though? Would be the worst scandal of any other administration.

  • So since Anthony Fauci accepted a preemptive pardon from Biden, you believe Anthony Fauci is guilty?

(Your guilt admittance claim is untrue)

  • Look at Stalin after 1945, who was just as insane. Everybody near Stalin knew he was insane, and causing immense damage to the Soviet Union. And nobody did anything, because the first person to make a move would be killed by Stalin. They only got rid of Stalin by "failing" to send in a doctor when Stalin had a heart attack.

I assume that in the case of both Trump, the root of the problem is the broad support among the common people. Any Republican politician who speaks strongly against Trump will 1) receive death threats from MAGA 2) be ignored and 3) be primaried HARD.
