  • I don't care if people - even strangers - see me naked. I don't walk around nude or anything, not because of shame or embarrassment, but because I don't wanna inflict such a visage on anyone against their will. But someone having seen my dick doesn't make me embarrassed at all. For example, if someone walks in on me changing, or if someone yanks my pants down as a prank out in public, none of that bothers me in the slightest. In fact, I sometimes feel like I have to pretend to be a little embarrassed just because I worry that people will think I'm into public exhibitionism or something. It's better for the other person if I pretend to be shocked/panicking. It's weirder for them if I just stand there with my shlong out and start talking to them like nothing is out of the ordinary. But I really don't give a shit.

  • Would be cool if the official Wikipedia mobile app integrated this functionality! It does have a 'random articles' card, but it's nothing like this.

Not sure 'addiction' is being defeated here, though 😆 Like if I'm addicted to sausages, giving me bacon instead isn't really solving the root of the issue. The issue being those sexy, sexy pigs.

  • Organising to do what exactly? A majority of the US population wants this nightmare. The Trump administration is expected to destroy norms and institutions to bring about their bigot's utopia, they ran on that promise.

It's really that dire. It's beyond the reach of the checks and balances that have kept things somewhat on-track up until just after 9/11. Checks and balances are precisely what the voters want to delete from the courts.

If Trump wants a 3rd term, he will get it, and his voters will not be moved by marches or sit-ins or AOC exquisitely calling out the scum and villainy from the floor of the senate. Either talk Luigification, or let the people post their fucking memes in peace.

  • When numbnuts have no power in society, it's often dismissed as a fool's errand to try to counter their crazy claims. But I think we all need to be countering the crazy at all times, not just when the biggest crazies are enjoying power and reach. Otherwise, we get Joe Rogan and Mel Gibson talking about curing terminal cancer with animal dewormer and Donald Trump winning a second term and appointing RFK Jr. to delete vaccines from history.

Horse/barn door situation, but still. It can always get worse.

  • Could someone please take aim at Elon Musk?

  • I wonder if Brand had been accused of rape by other men if that would have made the difference. If Trump was accused of raping a male Wall Street banker instead of E. Jean Carroll, would that have smothered his candidacy in its crib? I honestly think it would have. Which is a sad thing to believe.

  • It's nice of them to list their qualifications and the subject in which they earned a Nobel Prize. It makes it so much easier to Trumpistan to disregard them as "mainstream" and part of the commie woke academy.

If Trump or any of his lackeys respected the opinions of experts or the power of education, this letter would not need to have been written in the first place, because RFK would have been catapulted over the wall of the nearest insane asylum the second he opened his mouth. And besides, since when has Trump ever changed his views or his plans because smart people have told him not to go through with whatever dangerous bullshit it happens to be? His own team is unable to rein him most of the time, and he chose those people.

  • What I like about this moment is that the people who ought to be fearful are indeed the ones who are fearful. I mean shit, Elon is posting Tweets about how great CEOs are actually, health insurance companies are removing pages from their websites that identify leadership, it's a lovely little pocket of schadenfreude where we can all take a breath and prepare for the next 4 years.

  • I've heard this debunk a lot over the years, and I don't disbelieve it, but is it not the case that one or two animals (wolves or otherwise) in a group will be the "bosses" or something close to being dominant over the others? Is all of that internal power struggling we see in groups/families of animals not really what it seems? Or is the "alpha" stuff different from that? Or does it only apply to wolves, and "alphas" do exist in other animal species?

    Yours, confused and uneducated,

  • Amnesia: The Dark Descent. Felt like I was fighting for my actual life in that game.

  • Stop typing up that misogynist manifesto and scouting crowded public spaces. Instead, become the hero you wish you were and do us all a fucking favour. I will personally ensure you have the fattest commissary in history for the duration of your life sentence.

  • It's hilarious that this warped little creep has arranged things such that he has a credible excuse to sit and listen to trans women pinching off loaves from the next cubicle, all while he's reporting his porn usage to his son via his iChrist app. He's definitely someone we want making policy around genitalia.

  • It's the path of least resistance to achieve Musklessness. The second two of the positives you listed are actually negatives to the average Joe. Choice paralysis, overwhelming number of apps and servers, these are things that put people off even trying, especially if there are easier-to-use alternatives that are familiar and instant.

Mastodon is great, but it's not quite there yet in terms of convenience. Too much copying and pasting and clicking through to different instances in order to read old posts etc. It needs to be more cohesive in a way that doesn't require constantly leaving your timeline or going into the settings.

It's also the case that the Twitter diaspora who are famous tend to choose BlueSky, and that brings a lot of people along with them.

And it's also the case that Mastodon doesn't have much of a marketing campaign outside of word-of-mouth, whereas BlueSky does.

  • How does the old saying go? Sex offenders flock together?

  • Haha bless 'em. He's a handsome chap!

  • I guess people really do want fascism. We talk about it like it's an obviously-awful thing, but apparently most Americans disagree. Most people around the world seem to disagree, in fact. We laugh about the idiots voting for Trump, but far right lunatics are gaining positions of power all over the planet. It's not just Fox News-fed Americans.

It feels like we're building up to something catastrophic.

  • How to explain away the signs of rough gay sex to your wife.

  • Another instance where the prison system is used as a warehouse for the mentally ill.

  • Being delusional, disconnected conservatives, they don't realise that cunty is a compliment these days.

  • The jokes were the least-offensive thing about that fucking rally.
