  • Well it seems that the title is fetched and when you click to visit then it is geoblocked...I mean I get the idea, and it is fine (if I wanted to I'd magically move to another country) but it was more a point that federation for geoblocked stuff is kinda borked (not in a bad way)

  • Why oh why are streaming platforms still using rtmp in 2025 when it was stopped being developed pretty much in 2009? Why oh why don't they use something like SRT that has packet resending, can negotiate bit rates and adjust and use better codecs than x264 which is awful...

  • This is exactly how I see it panning out. The new owners would be american as well as there is no way the US govt would allow it to go overseas

  • They are losing money hand over fist right now though and have basically broken hundreds of agreements they have already been paid for...I do agree - I believe what would happen is they would be split up, as per most of these things, and the US govt would ensure that the X86 division remains american. I would imagine the real issue here is not the cpus but the fabs as they are the things really underperforming and have for at least a decade now
