I noticed that Soviet textbooks were frequentist e.g. Khintchin, while modern textbook by Murphy is Bayesian. The frequentist approach makes more sense to me.
Well, now you are talking much more with a sense. Still, I believe that mocking right-wingers is one of the most efficient way to counter the right wing propaganda, even if it's not in everyone's taste. The right-wing cheap tricks and vulgar propaganda work, the left-wingers over-intellectualism is lost in a mass of Internet garbage. Just look at recent sentiments.
While Matlab is very convenient for modeling (what can be done as easy in Python), it excels in control engineering, navigation, and related problems. While very popular in academia, it's pricing causes that only the biggest companies can use more than a few toolboxes (Airbus, BMW, U$ "defense" molochs). I cooperate with a robotic company using Matlab (though large and government-owned). Great feature is the automatic C code generation (which is high quality when compared to the AI slop), however this toolbox is very expensive for industry. Symbolic computations are decent, but you can have the same with SymPy or maxima for free. Overall, for my purposes it's too good to abandon it completely.
I wish you this dream travel and both to solve the financial issues. Even if would you travel the whole Asia or Africa in the two-year trip, you would not produce so much pollution as really rich people who have 'city breaks' every weekend by plane, or have 8 holiday a year. I personally know just middle class ladies traveling in group 4 times a year on holiday.
just give me more fucking bass
