  • Actually, there is one more package you might need: vulkan-radeon. The nvidia package, which you can remove then, provided that implementation itself.

  • Afaik immich is generally safe to publicly expose. Otherwise, I'd just use http basic auth. Supported by every server and client, should be secure enough to hold off attacks in case immich's login/auth mechanisms fail, and I don't see a usecase where this wouldn't work.

    If you don't have a public IP or need IPv4, get a 4€/Month VPS (cheaper than even a Pi's energy usage I suppose) and put headscale on it.

  • If you've manually verified the tests, then you prove that the tests are a proof, the LLM still did not proof anything on it's own. And if you didn't verify (read every single line of) the tests, they are not proof of the code working, because the LLM can and will just rewrite the tests to pass, not the code.

  • AI and proof is an oxymoron. Nothing an LLM will output is ever a proof. That includes LLM generated "tests".

Linux is finally large enough to at least sort of get "hit" by a malware campaign, and it demonstrates the ease with which thousands of infected packages can be cleaned, because they are centralized to a few repositories. M$'s only bet would be to update Defenders' index and cross fingers that the signature doesn't change.Windows malware is always way out of control of M$, while that's also the norm of uninfected programs.Almost all Linux programs are by design installed from a central repo.

    This piece of infrastructure is not designed to work this way. It's made for linux nerds. Not unknowing users. And I don't see why the AUR should punish the former because the latter are ignorant. So either be able to understand and actively read the things you're running or just don't.
