  • Honestly what isnt a bad approach, buying one used from a hobbyist. You get the full run down of the machine, rarely with a sales pitch and they arent afraid to tell you what theyre selling is NOT what you should be looking for. You also arent, normally, going to be buying a machine with tons and tons of miles on them. Most find craigslist because the machine's owner upgraded or realized how long its been on a shelf for. Never bought 3d printer but have bought tons of tools like my cnc router, 2 desktop lathes, laser cutter and press brake, all small models I found not really needing them but always looking out for them.. I learn more just going to look at them than i do running them loljkjk. Ive ran into this buying used cars too. There is a weird niche of things that cost so much new that most buying them are die hard hobbyists or trying to start a job shop. Either way they know so much about the machine youre buying amd love telling you everything they did with it.

  • That is far from the universal standard especially for non-s&p500 companies who compete against the prices set by the s&p500 companies. In competative markets/industries the importing party doesnt always have controll over when their order ships and what the tariff rates will be at time of shipment. It takes 3-6 months for large import orders to be dwlivered with landed price adjustments. The list price isnt going to fluctuate with every penny movement. The price is dictated by the market price and share of market a company holds. So a lot of times the tariff shock isnt going to find its way to the list price in any less than 3-6month time span. To reiterate, this is for products in a competative market. Your iphones, pc parts, game consoles are not competstive markets. The pipe fitting valve (PVF) industry is a v9mpetative industry. Hundreds of mfgers, accross hundreds if not thousands of skus

  • Huh? They are the best quality delivered by any Commercial AI company. Are you confusing compainies who provide AI as their service with what the actual AI bubble is? The AI bubble is built off companies making promises of what they can provide using AI. They are the ones who cannot deliver. Anthropic is the best performing AI service on the market. They wont cause the AI bubble or its eventual burst. They aren't valued by what their consumers arent able to provide. Anthropics valuation is based off its own intrinsic factors which is affected by the state of the bubble and again not the cause or blame.

  • I read into this the first time i wore noise cancelling headphones shooting. They were such a leap in technology and efficiency I had to find out how it was done.

    To this day I feel like its one of the most amazing technological performances ive ever experienced. It was the first time i could appreciate the sheer speed that pcb's can process information and react. My head is resting on the stock of a rifle and in the nano second it takes for the gunshot's sound waves to hit the external microphones, they instantly process the sound, identify it as a hazardous wavelength, and activat the sound surpressing function, ALL BEFOR THE SOUND WAVE TRAVELS FROM THE OUTER SHELL OF THE EARMUFFS TO YOU EARDRUM.

    Even after i r3ad how they work i refused to accept it. I was hellbent convinced they worked like check valves where it had to be mechanical. The soundwave hit the floating ball and force it to seal off the inner microphone of thr headphones. NOPE dead wrong lol

Ive had my account suspended 10 mins after creating the account because you cant message or track orders bought on guest account option so i created a throw away account AFTER paying for the order so i could track it. If someone fucking pays you for something, its none of your fucking business why theyre suspended, you either ship them the product or return their fucking money. There is no scenario where you get to keep their money and keep the product without being the entire piece of shit of the encounter. Do that shit to me and ill take the whole thing to small claims and ruin your fuckin credit until you pay back what you fuckin stole.

  • Its been so long since ive had or bought a tv, what are the brands that are the least shitty now? I used to always be a samsung everything kinda guy but fuck them now. I wish they never started fucking around with software and stuck to just hardware. Their products from strictly the hardware side are still excellent. My zfold7 is amazing the older gens started rickety but each version i got (so the 3, the 5 and the 7) has been a respectible improvement but the 7 really stepped up the quality. The last samsung tv i got was like 65" curved screen amazing picture but the fucking interface was pure cancer and i will not buy another. My samsung 4k monitors, non-smart normal fridge, and my equally as dumb oven are great and dont have any stupid shit so Ill buy more dumb samsung products lol.

  • Would I get less downvotes (i know its only 2 down votes now but I've seen enought "vibe" coding posts and the reaction they tend to get from Lemmy) if I shared a similar mindset toward using llms for writing scripts but come from a backround of 0% IT industry and 100% manufactuing/production industry?

    I never even had an email till I moved from machining into the office as supply chain manager. I could write g-code programs that could machine circles around the next best machinist. It was a huge learning curve tho acclimating to the office workflow. Learning excel, macros, and all skillsets needed for taking over purchasing from a retiring boomer who wrote everything in a notebook except for emails.

    My learning curve started to even out rigjt when gpt hit the market and I fucking ran with it. I started learning python on my own at that point and knew enough to start automating tasks via python.

    What I'm getting at is, these tools arent all for the lazy to half ass ahit and just find myself curious as to whether or not i should expect the same hate just for using LLMs to improve my own workflow in my own role outside of IT.

Stretching out your drugs so you have a little every day in fear of running out is how a little bit every day turns into a lot everyday witbout noticing. Whereas something like percocets that you get from someone filling a script once a month, you do them all the weekend you get them and dont do any for the next 28 days, and youll be able to stiff arm any chemical dependencies at a distance for far longer.
