Off to a non-US instance. Goodbye, and thanks for all the fish.

  • So, dear OP, what are the Seven deadly ur-languages?

  • gilf

I've heard of MILFs... but i've only seen GILFs in Japan. That's not the geography we're discussing here.

  • Isn't the 2A to bring down tyrant governments?

  • Maybe it'll bring chip prices down to Rest of the World™ to clear stock. Thanks Trump!

  • So call Greenland Northwestern US and bingo! you can drill? Is that really a thought process in those heads?

  • politicians are incapable of actually fixing any of our problems.

They're not incapable, they just don't care. They're your problems after all, not theirs.

  • Most of them can't even place their own damn country on a map.

  • I.e. Trump wants to have no new chips in the coming years... ok.

  • It's probably easier to list what i don't listen to: most country, hip-hop, rap, overly-noisy metal (where you can't really understand what the singer's grunting about), most pop.Lately i've been listening mostly to Tool, Jinjer, Asian Dub Foundation and Thievery Corporation.Tomorrow, who knows, maybe Madredeus or Garbage (the old stuff).

  • My 32-bit VM:

    type : size (bytes)
    int : 4
    long : 4
    long long: 8
    double : 8
    time_t : 4
    float : 4
    l double : 12
    int8_t : 1	INT8_MAX : 127
    int16_t : 2	INT16_MAX : 32767
    int32t : 4	INT32_MAX : 2147483647
    int64_t : 8	INT64_MAX : 9223372036854775807
    uint8_t : 1	UINT8_MAX : 255
    uint16_t : 2	UINT16_MAX: 65535
    uint32t : 4	UINT32_MAX: 4294967295
    uint64_t : 8	UINT64_MAX: 18446744073709551615

It does support 64-bit sizes, weirdly enough time_t is not one of them.

  • Platforms like Mastodon don’t quite fit the bill so they fail to gain traction.

They may fail to impress VC, but i wouldn't say they fail to gain traction... especially while commenting in one of them.

  • It’s not just democrat

It was. Searching republican yielded results, searching democrat yielded a sensitive content warning and no results. They "fixed" it later.

  • A brand has (finally) died.

  • No mention of a few corpos going for nuclear as a power source for said datacenters?

  • that it knows about.

    TIL

  • Somehow i doubt this'll affect anyone with "manager", "head", "chief" or "officer" in the name...

  • Could you link or explain where you got this information?

Common sense. The instance admin deletes the instance (or your posts) 'cos the coffee was bad this morning... there goes "your property".Obviously orders of magnitude better than commercial social media but it's no silver bullet either. There, 3 lines.

  • Too lazy to bother with proper research, but considering how big these companies are, asking your favorite LLM How many people work at Meta and Amazon combined? will yield about 1.5M people (+/- the usual yearly thousands of layofss/new hires).

  • Lack of search is my biggest gripe with Mastodon.

I follow hashtags, it's how i discover interesting content for me. I only use the search function to follow specific accounts.
