  • I think the difference here is:

    One less Nazis, which could spread and help get fewer, until theoretically zero of them are left

    VS

    One less MAGA which could become fewer, but that does not change or modulate the political party in power or how they operate.

    If they followed the law and if media was independant and transparent, it'd be pretty similar, but here, I think putting a dictator in power then switching sides is not the same as being a violent racist and switching sides.

  • While you are correct with all that, I would argue it's not like paying half of all I have. Say your 20k is after 33% tax, that'd be 30k before taxes, our of the 50k I did my original math with.

    It's be like paying 30$ then, plus the "I'm rich and greedy so it hurts", say 1k of physocological damage... Still a very small portion of what I have.

    Hell, just in insurance, I'm paying way more than that every year!
